PeopleSoft & Oracle
More than 30 years of experience designing, developing, integrating, modernizing, and supporting complex enterprise application environments.

What is PeopleSoft & Oracle?
This page summarizes Steven Sereg’s PeopleSoft and Oracle experience across solution architecture, technical development, integrations, reporting, security, data conversion, operations, upgrades, and production support. It reflects work across the complete application lifecycle and multiple generations of enterprise technology.
Problems addressed
- Enterprise applications must support critical business processes while continuing to evolve.
- Customizations, integrations, security, reporting, data, and operations can become tightly coupled over time.
- Organizations need specialists who understand both delivered application behavior and the underlying technical platform.
Potential outcomes
- Deliver reliable PeopleSoft and Oracle solutions aligned to business requirements.
- Modernize integrations, user experiences, processes, and technical foundations without unnecessary disruption.
- Resolve complex issues across application, database, middleware, batch, reporting, and infrastructure layers.
Solution perspective
My approach combines deep platform knowledge with broad architecture experience. I can work at the business-process level, the application-design level, and the technical implementation level—then follow the solution into testing, deployment, operations, and support.
PeopleSoft expertise
Application development
PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR/SQC, COBOL, Component Interfaces, Application Packages, Fluid and Classic development.
Integration
Integration Broker, REST, SOAP, web services, file-based interfaces, messaging, APIs, and third-party systems.
Reporting and data
PS Query, BI Publisher, Pivot Grids, Composite Query, data conversion, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
Platform and operations
PeopleTools, security, batch processing, upgrades, PUM, testing, scheduling, troubleshooting, deployment, and production support.
Current public-sector delivery
I currently develop, enhance, and support PeopleSoft HCM, ELM, and Enterprise Portal applications in a Minnesota public-sector production environment. The work includes OCI migration, maintenance packs and upgrades, payroll support, accessible Fluid and Classic Plus pages, integrations involving SEMA4, SWIFT, and the EPM Data Warehouse, and technical leadership across releases, incidents, changes, and mentoring.
Enterprise architecture perspective
My experience includes mainframe, client-server, web, cloud, on-premise, and hybrid architectures. That breadth is useful when PeopleSoft must coexist with identity platforms, SaaS applications, data services, middleware, automation, reporting platforms, or custom applications.
Industries and delivery roles
I have worked across consulting and enterprise environments in roles that included systems engineering, development, integration consulting, solution architecture, technical leadership, team supervision, proof of concept, implementation, stabilization, and long-term support.
How I add value
I am most effective where a problem crosses boundaries: a business rule affects a component; an integration depends on security; a batch issue reaches into SQL or infrastructure; an upgrade changes user experience; or a new cloud service must coexist with a long-lived enterprise platform. I focus on finding the complete cause and designing a supportable solution.
Could this approach help your organization?
Every environment has different systems, constraints, risk tolerances, and operating goals. A focused discovery conversation can identify where this type of architecture may reduce complexity, improve continuity, or create a better path between existing technology and future capabilities.
